I have read a lot of other people's post, but I have so many questions and other things that I am starting a new thread, sorry!
I have crazy dreams and a lot of the time I can lie awake for several minutes to an hour before I snap out of it, then I have to get up and get some water to really calm myself down and to realize it was a dream. I also feel out of body and have weird images or noises before I fall asleep. I read about this
hypnagogia just now, and it does sound like some of my problem. What do I do about it? I have very vivid dreams every night, several of them in fact.
I just got married and now am sleeping with another person, this is when I really noticed I had a "problem". I'm ok with having weird dreams but he tells me I talk constantly in my sleep, make strange noises, scream and sometimes get up. Those nights are pretty funny the next day, I will admit. The worst part is I have been
physically hitting him in bed! All of this is really effecting his sleep. If I am screaming, he has problems getting back to sleep because it freaks him out. We are just married and I don't want to have to sleep in different beds. I'm about to get a big pillow to place in between us

Sometimes I wake up sweating or shaking or my heart beating really fast, too.
Sometimes I remember the dreams and my actions very detailed, sometimes I just remembered I had a "bad night". I don't know if this is night terrors, caused by my overactive imagination or if this all because hypnagogia. I'm not stressed out, I have no anxiety. I think it is genetic? My mom, sister, brother and nieces had some form of this as well. I do have a painful condition called TMJD, but I have bad dreams when I am not in much pain, and since I can remember. I slept with my parents until I was 13! I will not watch anything but comedies now and some dramas as much as I like thrillers-I don't need anything to make my mind more terrifying. I use to have reocurring dreams, but that is not really the case anymore, for the most part they are unique. I have them worse when taking muscle relaxers. I don't really want to try a sleep aid, because I have no problems with going or staying asleep. I have tried the Lucid Dreaming technique but it did not help, and I don't have a lot of time to keep up with it.
Also I feel it is important to note that I don't drink much caffeine, if I do it is no later than lunch, very small amounts of alcohol-maybe a glass of wine every 3 weeks or so, never have touch any sort of illegal drug and I eat very healthy.
Anyway, thank you for reading this post. Please let me know if you have experienced anything like this or have any advice!!!
