My sleep is getting weird - Sleep Disorders Message Board

Last night, I was laying in bed wide awake, most of the night I did not sleep, like I have this odd power surge, & like yesterday I was not as tired as usual, for half the day which is just weird, whatever was going on, kept me from sleeping last night, but my daughter tells me I'm snoring really loud, to please roll over, I know good & well I was awake, and I did not here myself snoring, and who snores when they aren't asleep. Well I know she wasn't lying so.

I also seem to be kicking into REM sleep way too much. Most of the time though when I am laying in bed dreaming, when I should be unware of anything, I am very aware of my Fibromyalgia pain occuring & either/or needing to go pee. And it will end up fully waking me up.

I cannot lay down anymore without gasping for air. Gasping for air while awake, I also find strange.

I went to sleep yesterday for about 10 minutes and was dreaming before I woke up. I know that's too quick to go into REM sleep. I guess if it keeps up, I'll get another sleep study done.

I'm still confused about gasping when awake though. I take in a deep breath involuntary and hold it like I'm holding my breath & it doesn't feel like before hand that I quit breathing like you would do if you was asleep & having an apnea episode. I just can't see how it could be related to the sleep disorder when it's happening to me awake.

Some sleep disorders are actually caused by other conditions as I suspect may be your case. Gasping for air during day time hours is sometimes referred to as "air hunger".
