I have also had this happen a few times, hearing a voice that sounds as if it's there in the room. I could also feel myself lying in the bed, so the experience seemed so "real."
However, definitely no one was actually there. There windows weren't open, so it wasn't someone outside.
Once it was my father's voice, once I thought it was "an angel." (That is how my brain interpreted it.) In both cases, they weren't a pleasant experience.
I think it is just something that can be part of the dream process. I don't think it means anything, and it's my opinion that you shouldn't take whatever the voice said seriously (unless it was something nice, hehe!) I interpreted it as my brain being a bit stressed out.
I know it is a strange experience, though, since the "voice" sounds like it's really there.
How do you feel about your experience? Hopefully it is not still causing you stress.
I woke up once to a voice saying - "Dana, Dana - Wake up! You're going to be late for work!" What is odd is my name is Dena, and this voice was mis-pronouncing my name! LOL. And, I wasn't late for work.
In any case, I don't think it's a sleep disorder and I don't think anything is wrong with you. Just a dream.
Ive had something happen to me like it was a voice but it wasnt human actually it was my dead cat meowing to me like he used to do in the mornings. I think it was just becase I missed him so much and was so used to him doing that. Another thing that happens often now actually is i'll be outside smoking a cig by myself and it'll be quiet out when all of a sudden a random sentence from a voice ive never heard will go through my head. One time I heard something like who are you and it sounded like an old man saying it. Idk maybe ive just got a weird mind haha.
