snoring while sleeping on my side

I'm a side sleeper and a 53 year old male. In the last six months my snoring as gotten really loud. I was tested for sleep apnea and it came back negative but it has gotten worse. I tried the nasal strips but they didn't help. I used to use Nasonex and I'm thinking maybe I should go back to using it that maybe my sinuses are plugged up. My wife says my mouth is open when I'm sleeping on my side. Any thoughts?
