Any idea what this is?

Hi everyone. I am new and looking for some advice. The following has been happening off and on, and the latest one has been the most intense and it's starting to scare me.
When i'm drifting off to sleep, there's an intense dizzy feeling and then it goes away. This happens quickly with the dizziness intensifying and then just going away. I can't move and eventually (this sounds crazy), I dont feel like im in my bed anymore. Before I know it, i'm fighting the feeling of movement. I dont know why but when I was napping earlier, it felt like someone was shooting me with an AK-47 (machine gun). I mean, it felt like I was being hit really fast - it was like the dizzyness ebb and flow but very fast. It scared the living crap out of me which is why I am posting. Was this a seizure? I have no history of them. Or is this some sort of hallucination? I am somewhat sleep deprived (going to bed late, getting up early). I hate to admit this but i do take stimulants (caffeine, ephedrine) in the morning and sleeping pills at night. Didn't think this would be one of the effects but there you go. Am I going to die tonight?
