Wake up same time every morning

Ok this problem started about 6 months ago and it starting to really effect me.

It does not matter what time I go to sleep, how hard of a work day I had no matter if I take OTC sleep aids etc I will wake up between 6:30-7:00AM EVERY morning when I get up I am still tired and sleepy but can not go back to sleep I can lay there for 2 hours and I have before and will not fall asleep.. I wen t to bed at a little after 1AM this morning and even took a unisom before bed and here I am once again awake at 6:48AM lol.... I did some Google searches but all people talk about is your body clock.. Gotta be more to it then that...

Thanks for any info.

Re: Wake up same time every morning

same thing is happening to me, started about 3 months ago I think, I had a stressful past few years and it messed up my sleep. Maybe prescription meds can work but I don't what to take them so what I decided to do was simply start to go to bed earlier now. Trying to go to bed a little earlier each night to get use to go to bed earlier.

I recently found some comments on the net that a deficiency of calcium/magnesium can cause wakeup problems. I'm pretty sure I don't get enough cal/mag in my diet, a male should get 1000 cal, 500 mag a day. Until I learn how to get enough in my diet I'm taking cal/mag/vit D supplements. Just started so don't know yet if it works.

Re: Wake up same time every morning

Yes, it is body clock.
The internal body clock is also known as the circadian rhythm. It regulates the biological processes of the body in a 24 hour cycle. It is controlled by a structure in the brain called the suprachiasmatic nucleus. This also regulates the release of a hormone that induces sleep, which is the melatonin. Aside from that, it makes sure that some of the functions of the body are in harmony with the sleep-wake cycle, such as the urine production and body temperature.

You consult with a sleep expert.
