heart begins to race when I lay down for bed

Recently I have been having an off feeling. Before I go to bed I will feel perfectly fine, but as soon as I go to lay down and go to bed, I get this feeling like I have heart burn (without the burning) and my heart begins to race. This feeling doesn't go away very easily. I have resorted to taking Zantec 150 to get rid of the heart burn feeling and I have to lay on my right side to ease my racing heart. My heart does not stop racing until I fall asleep (if it even does stop). When I wake up in the morning, I feel perfectly fine.

I have kinda been more stressed lately than I usually am and for the past couple of nights I ate pretty close to bed time, but I'm not sure if those things alone could cause this feeling. I haven't called my doctor yet, but if this continues I think I'm going to. Have any of you solved this problem yet or have any way to ease a racing heart? It would be extremely helpful if there is anything I could do to eliminate these feelings completely.

Re: Heart racing in the middle of night when sleeping

I found that when I am less stressed, this happens less often. I still have no idea what it is and would love to find out how that sleep study went. I am curious to see what is causing these issues for all of us on this forum.
