Greetings! A sleep specialist might do better than us. My deepest sympathy is extended. Sometimes sleep apnea can cause dangerous disturbances in sleep and one may wish to find out if this is happening. Sometimes the medicines for sleep themselves cause a lack of sleep believe it or not. I am not guaranteeing any cure but what I can say is that if food is eaten too close to bedtime or the stomach is still full of food at bedtime nightmares and resulting sleep disturbances may occur.
The last meal of the day should be light and maybe just a peice of bread and a peice of fruit and several hours before bedtime. I would try to study more about proper sleep habits and about the brain where sleep occurs. Of course everyone makes their own health care decisions and is in charge of their own health care. Peace sjb
