sleeping with eyes open - Sleep Disorders Message Board

I am concerned about my 3 yr old. He sleeps with his eyes open. Actually, partially open.
I initially wasn't concerned because my mother said I did this from time to time when I was little. I've just recently begun to be concerned with this...will this affect his vision in the long run, is he getting the proper sleep??? Anyone with any info on this please reply. And yes, I do plan on speaking to his dr about this. The more informed I am the better.

MY 2 NEPHEWS BOTH SLEEP WITH THEIR EYES PARTLY OPEN.ONE IS 6, THE OTHER 2 . SO FAR THIS HAS NEVER CAUSED THEM ANY EYESIGHT PROBLEMS. BUT BOTH WERE BORN EARLY 7 & 8 MONTHS,SO I WONDER IF THIS MIGHT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THEM SLEEPING LIKE THIS.
