Angry Help I sleep all day

I have trouble going to sleep at night , I have seen my doctor for this and he prescribed clonazepam for me I take 2mg of this and I still do not get to sleep early. I usually end up falling asleep at 3or4am and then sleep till the afternoon. Does anyone have any advice? I take the pills early enough so I can get to sleep early but it is still not working. I do not know why I cannot get to sleep but it bothers me and I need to be up early with my children. Please help!!!!

I had the same problem. Melatonin was my savior to getting my sleep schedule back on track. I weigh about 170 and take 3 mg before bed sometimes. I chew it up so it disolves and hits me all at once. It resets your sleep schedule.

Wendy, boy do I understand your dilemma! I, too, have struggled with insomnia (for nearly six years now). My typical bed time was anywhere from 2:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. Then I had to be up to take one child to school at 8:20, and the other at 11:20. For about six months now, my standard routine is to come home after dropping off #1, only to get breakfast for #2 and then go back to bed until it's time to take her to school. It's terribly frustrating and even embarassing. I feel like a horrible Mom most of the time. The guilt, alone, can make you crazy! Anyway, my doctor decided to put me on Celexa about 12 days ago. Now, no matter what time of day or night I take it, I'm ready to go to bed by 8:00 p.m.! LOL! Seriously, I have only been to bed past midnight one or two times since starting on the Celexa. The trouble is... I still feel like sleeping all morning long. So even though I'm getting an additional 2-4 hours of sleep, I'm still wiped out. I guess this doesn't help you with your situation, but I wanted you to know that you have another woman out there who understands what you're going through. I will remember to pray for you to get some sleep. (P.S. I was diagnosed with post-partum, which is where the insomnia started. Have you had your hormones checked out? When did your insomnia start?)

Wendy,

It sounds like you have Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome. I've been recently diagnosed with it but have been suffering for over 15 years. I have found a specialist who deals with this issue and am hoping for results. He tells me that Light Therapy is one of the first courses of action. Best of luck.

i've had this problem too...its TOO frustrating. i've even had to skip class on several occasions just to make up for the loss of sleep by taking a nap. i know they say naps are bad in this case but i have to get sleep some how!!! i seem to fall asleep pretty easily between the hours of 4 and 7pm so i take advantage of this. then late at night i get the other few hours of sleep. luckily my grades haven't suffered. i've tried ambien and it works!!! but the thing is you can't take it every single night. my doctor on campus only gave me 8 the second time around. i usually take half of one so thats 16 essentially. so what about the other 349 nights of the year. i wish there was some drug i could take every single night that had no side or long term effects!
