 Sundowners in elderly
My father is 87 years old. The doctor says he has a condition known as Sundowners. When it gets dark outside he becomes agitated, won't or can't sleep, he is restless and will move furniture or wake up other patients. Also gets very angry and will hit caregivers. Sundowners is a nickname and I would like to know the real name of the condition. What meds might cause this? Are there meds that would stop his outbursts?
