Hi everyone, For the past month I have been having trouble sleeping. Either I can't fall asleep or I wake up during the night. When my husband lays down he's out in 5 minutes. When I lay down, it an hour or two before I fall asleep, it feels like i'm anxious or excited or something. kinda like when i was pregnant and was about to deliver any day. I'm not pregnant or anything and when I do fall asleep I wake up trying to catch my breath and make really weird noises trying to breathe. It's never happened before and I'm kinda worried about since I've had chest pains as well. Any help would be greatful. Thanks!!! becky
I can relate to what you have said. I suggest you have a chat to your doctor. I have a feeling that your thyroid gland may be out of wack . The reason I say that is because I had always had trouble falling asleep at night and on occasions, I would have palpitations, feel breathless and anxiety type attacks. (chest pains could be related to feeling anxious) After my third baby, the symptoms came to the surface and I was finally diagnosed. Thyroid trouble runs in my family but only the females that have had babies has had trouble. A blood test could show if it is the thyroid. Best wishes Sue

Hi Sue, thyroid is very possible. When I was in my teens my mom had my thyroid checked because I was always over weight as a child but was always on the go. She couldn't figure out why I never would lose weight. The doctor she I had hypothyroidism. I was on medication but when I left home I couldn't afford the meds so I stopped taking them. I had a doctor check my thyroid last year and he said my thyroid is fine. I want a second opinion because he misdiagnosed me before. I wen't to a doctor a couple of weeks ago for an ear infection and the doctor said my lymphnodes are swollen in my neck, could that be a sign of hypothyroidism? Becky
Hi BLUE4U2, I do drink coffee in the morning and soft drinks during the day but not during the evevings. I'm not on any meds right now. It could be stress or maybe thyroid. I will be seeing a doctor soon. I'll let you know what happens. Becky
