How many Ambien is to many??????? - Sleep Disorders Message Board

I recently had what I think is a close call with a firend. He says he just wanted to sleep the day away and I really think he had no intentions of an overdose, but he took 6 pills at one time. I know taking more then the doc says is to many, but how close did I come to losing him??????????

i have no idea, and i feel bad nobody else answered this. i have taken 6 ambien before, and there really is no need, because they are so strong, 1 is fine. i used to take this much, because when i took ambien, i seemed to forget what is was doing and would do very weird things-it was though they were lik a "roofie" i took one the other night, i haven't took one in awhile, and my fiance said that i was screaming about christmas trees and santa clause. thats the kind of crap that scares me. next time he wants to take 6, i would take them away from hi, i don't see how this would be good at all.

6 is too many but I heard that pharms engenire their drugs as low as possible and it should take 10 tabs to overdose? but 1 tab of amb usually works great the problem I have is sometimes I wake up with the munchies and eat some quick snack.

THX for replying, I thought for awhile I wasnt going to get any responses. He is Ok and the following day I called his doc and told her about the incident. He is out of them now and I highly doubt he will get another RX for them. I guess from what he is saying to me family (yes I ratted him out to the family also) and pdoc, he really just wanted to sleep the day away. Scared the S_ _ _ out of me, but seems OK now. THX!!!!!!!!!

Thats how sleeping pill get a bad reputation because of people who abuse them. I am not at all suprised if that doc will not perscribe any more to your friend. You have to be sure to hide all your meds in case friends see you taking a sleeping pill you are already labeled as a drug user. QUIT ABUSING YOUR MEDS, TAKE ONE OR TWO TABS AT THE MOST.
