Insomnia: Just a Happy, Active Mind!
I am not depressed and I don't nap. But, because there are on occasion 4am "continual thoughts" going on such as
what I should do the next day, thoughts of the past,
funny things that have happened, etc. , I can't go back to sleep. Even creative thoughts buzzing around.
So I started experimenting how the heck to turn off my brain. Melatonin worked for a VERY long time. Young kids don't have these problems because, as you know, they have Enormous Melatonin production going on.
Unfortunately, I am "hooked" on my nighttime pill regimen: 5mg of Buspar (way beneath therapeutic levels)and 1/2mg of Xanax. This combination serves to put me out, in a very floaty, nice manner each and every night. Then at 4am I have to take 1mg of Xanax to stop the thinking. I sleep like a rock until 7 or 8.
So there is a condition I've seen mentioned ONCE before: an active mind. No; it doesn't serve me well.
Haven't made a DIME yet using it. And I'd like to be abe to stop so I'd feel , er, "normal." Now the entire universe knows my EARLY MORNING DOSAGE SCHEDULE. Just in case everyone thinks that if you can't sleep you need psychiatric help and a heavy drug regimen. Right.
