Pitching or eating motions while sleeping?
My father has been deteriorating ever since he had a triple bypass 2 years ago. Most recently he broke his hip and has been in rehab for 6 weeks. My mother just brought him home and we have been noticing some behaviors that we wonder might be Parkinson's.
He is 71. He does have some palsy or tremor , he does have a droopy expressionless face, and he does slur his words now.
Since he has come home, my mother says he behaves as if he is trying to feed himself during sleep, and other times as if he is tossing a ball in his sleep. He also converses during sleep and may be having dreams etc? She said the movements are so startling that she is awakened by them. They are repititious over most of the night at times.
I am wondering if my father is in a stage of Parkinsons or if anyone knows about these irrative sleeping behaviors? |
