Hello nightcrawler, I too have been a night crawler since my young days. Drugs are not the answer!!! I have tried it both ways. For a time, I was on a prescribed sleep aid and had more difficulty---depression and just felt worse. This is very common. I have heard so many first hand experiences. In retrospect, I should have incorperated my night time wakefulness into my life choices, work, etc.. For instance, do something for work that one can do during the hours when you have the most energy. There are paramedics and others that can work the night shift and they love it. You are still young and can train or go to school for something that would suit you IF THIS INDEED TURNS OUT TO BE A CHRONIC situation. You could go along with your doctor's advise here. He/she is probably speaking from experience...these drugs are reeally only meant for the short term and ones only get into MORE difficulty when they try to stay on them for long periods of time. This probalby is not what you want to hear, but it is an answer that comes from experience. Hope you will let me know what you decide to do and how you do. Sincerely, Arctic Loon
