Hi, I can relate to the tight neck feeling of PJ's.
Just wondering if you have other anxiety problems? or is this a new and singular event in your life?
I'm like the "princess and the pea"! I tend to get fixated on something when in reality I'm thinking about other things that are irritating me. Clothes ALWAYS bother me when pressed on my neck/shoulder area. I always have pain and discomfort there.
I have a suggestion for you to get at what it may be.
Wear your PJ's tonight, have a pad of paper or scribbler and pen next to you in bed.
When the feeling starts, pick up the paper and pen and start writing....anything....what comes to mind....how does it feel....what other things feel like that....parallel that to events in your life, etc.
Maybe draw a picture.
If nothing is coming to mind, then it just could be one of these...It could be that your PJ's shrunk, or you've gained weight? You may have neck or shoulder problems and the area is sensitive to the pulling of the PJ's?
Could be simple, could be subconscious. If you are relieved by the feelings by sleeping without that top, that's great. If you want to wear a top, maybe a tank top or loose necked t-shirt would be more comfortable?
Let us know how you fend..
I hope it's only a short-lived event.
Good sleeps to you,
quincy
