Okay, if anyone suffers from lack of sleep due to your loved one's snoring, we want to hear from YOU! Let's share our stories about lack of sleep from a snoring spouse and what everyone is doing about it and what helps and doesn't help. I am a sufferer of lack of sleep because my hubby snores like a freight train! I have no clus as to what to do! I'm tired all the time, I get cranky after awhile, I feel terrible at times (headache, nausea, out of sorts)because I don't sleep through the night! I know that I need 6-7 hours a night and I just can't get it with his snoring. He tried the breathe Right strips, didn't help and he refuses to do anything surgical (which I don't blame him)He doesn't have a problem sleeping and when we are in bed and I am watching TV, he'll fall asleep and snore SO LOUD that I have to wake him up to tell him that I can't hear the TV! Now THAT'S a problem!

I feel your pain! I went through the same thing several years ago. I even tried ear plugs but I could hear him through the plugs! So my solution was to start sleeping in the spare bedroom. I used to go out on the couch, but I never felt well rested in the morning. Now that I have my own bedroom I sleep fine. I do miss sleeping with my husband though. He is considering having the surgery on his throat because he has tried everything else and nothing helped. I'm leaving the decision up to him as far as the surgery. So until then, I'll be catching 8hrs sleep in my quiet room!

My husband snores really loud too. Just the other day I was watching tv in bed and he started snoring and I had to turn the tv up to hear it. I thought it would be too loud and wake him up but it didn't. If I can get him to turn over onto his left side he doesn't always snore. He is totally willing to sleep on his left side he just ends up turning over on his back when he's asleep sometimes. There has been times when he's laying on his back and I will try to push him over to lay on his left side and being totally sound asleep he will resist me and say no. The next day he doesn't even remember doing it and feels bad about it. Most of the time all I have to do is wiggle him a little and he automatically turns over even in his sleep. He's so used to me doing that. When all else fails I go into the spare room and it's just so peaceful. I just lay there and go awwwww quiet. He was even willing to have the surgery but I didn't know much about it and thought that was a drastic approach. Then I recently worked with someone who has sleep apnea and she had part of the back of her throat removed and the back of the roof of her mouth. I don't know if that is the same surgery they would perform for snoring but she had a speech impediment from it. She was my bosses boss and I wondered how someone with a speech impediment could be in her position I didn't realize it was from surgery. So if it is the same surgery there is no way I would want my husband to do that. So does anyone know what they remove for the surgery if the problem is just snoring?

Another restless night and my neck is as tight as the strings on a guitar! Man....I NEED SLEEP!!! The only time I get decent sleep is if I take something to help me sleep, but, I don't want to rely on meds because my husband snores! We women have such a hard life sometimes!
