pulling sensation while sleeping? - Sleep Disorders Message Board

a few months ago my boyfriend had the weirdest thing happen while he was sleeping. he felt as though someone was pulling him from his body. like his arms were being lifted right out of bed. he was sleeping and felt this going on but wasn't awake totally. in the morning he was exhausted and sore. really sore! does anyone know what this is called? or has had it happen to them?

I have had somewhat similar experiences, but not quite exactly as you described. It sounds like sleep paralysis and/or lucid dreaming. If you search those two topics you may find some more answers.

My little personal theory on that is that his spiritual body is lifting from his physical body, and rising up to surf the astral planes. Does he have a lot of deja vu's? Because if he does this is because while surfing the astral planes he is encountering situations in life that has yet to occur. Does he ever shake an wake up suddenly? This is your spiritual body "snapping" back into your physical body. There's lots of websites on the net about this. There is a really fun one to look at, but unfortuantely I'm not allowed to post websites. I wouldn't worry much about it. It's probably just him being restless in his sleep. But my theory (if infact true) would make sense. =)
