sakara--
Congratulations on deciding to quit the evil cigarettes. You have made a smart and life giving decision that you will not regret. I almost have 6 months, next week. Can't believe it, all while dealing with a health problem too. I surprised myself, (again) as I have quit many, many times. (smoked 30 yrs, quit about 10 x) I feel so much better being a non smoker than a smoker. No more sore throats, clearing gunk out of my throat, wheezing, eyes watering, burning things, wasting $4.50 a day, being afraid I'll die young, etc, etc, etc. I always worried about my kids too when they were young. Now they are grown, and I want to live to see some grandchildren someday!

Yes, it's not easy, but knowing you're going to die or being Dx'd with lung or mouth cancer would be harder,

wouldn't it? You'll also be setting a wonderful example to your kids, as you don't want to see them smoking when they grow up either, right?
Good luck, and do post again and let us know how you are doing.
