did anyone else get this when they quit??? - Smoking Cessation Message Board

Ever since I quit last friday i have been very very neasous all day long! not to the point that i am going to throw up but i feel really grosse, is this normal?

hi-i have quit 3 times and went back after different amounts of time. twice i quit for almost a year. that last time was only for 3 months. i felt horrible the whole time. that's not what made me pick them up again. had a severe depression,headache constantly,nausea all the time,insomnia. a lot of different things go on when you quit and since everyone is different everyone reacts differently.i did some in-depth research on-line as to exactley what goes on when you quit. i was amazed. i also took a smoking cessation seminar for 8 weeks the last time and found it would've been better if they filled us in on what is possible after a month,2 months and so on. they did not. i don't feel i was educated enough about what goes on sometimes after the first 6 weeks.

You will feel all sorts of sensations after you stop smoking. I was a pack and a half a day smoker until I quit smoking about 8 months ago. I really struggled with going cold turkey because of the effects of the withdrawal of the nicotine. I was literally having panic attacks and would feel like I could barely breathe. I had been so physically and psychologically dependents on this drug that I swear it felt as if my time on earth was through and I would be meeting my maker soon.

Those senations in my body lasted for only a week and fortunately there were no other ill affects as I couldn't bare much more and was ready to start lighting one up. BUT the next morning there was something different in the air. The birds were singing their beautiful melodys and I could actually breathe for a change. So I went outside to savor the beauty of the flowers and the wonders of nature. I even went for a long walk which usually had me quite winded and out of breathe. This time was different and I knew I had done the right thing.

Then I was thankfull that I added 10 0r more good years to my existance just by ridding myself of that nasty habit. So hang in there because what you are feeling is normal and should subside within a short time.

well its been a week today and i dont feel any of those things that you guys said but u were heavier smokers than i was (a pack every 3 days) but this neasea is driving me nuts!! the only thing ive gone through is a bit of grouchiness and the usual feelin that i need a cigarette.

During the last five days since I've been off smokes I have had/felt:

Insomnia
Irritable
Nervous
Impatient
Stomach Problems
Frequent loose stool (sometimes the opposite as well)
Tired
