Yay! I've made it a year
I've really noticed a difference in how I feel. I smoked for about 4 years and if I tried to exercise I would be out of breath easily. For example: I'd try to ride my bike about half a mile to the nearest school track and would nearly die trying to get up this massive hill. Now I'm easily biking 6 miles and conquering that hill with ease.
Quitting smoking was one of the best things I've done for myself. I don't even get cravings anymore. I've somehow got it ingrained in my head that if I have even one puff I'll be violently sick (and seeing as I have a huge fear of vomit, this method is very effective

).
My only problem is those stubborn pounds I've gained. I just can't seem to shed em. For those who have quit do you find that there is a direct correlation with how long you've smoked and how much weight you gain when you quit? I only smoked for four years so I only gained like 7 pounds.
Though I suppose the way I see it, it's better to have 7 extra pounds than an early death. To all of you who are quitting: Good luck! It's amazing how good you feel when you finally kick the habit.
