Red face HELP 3 weeks today but still having cravings

I stopped 3 weeks ago today. Which is really great but I'm still having cravings for one. When I'm at work I don't think about it but when I'm home I do an yes I have been trying to distract myself but sometimes it doesn't help. I really want this time to stick. I turned 40 this year and have decided that its time to try to get straight all the bad things I have done for the last 20 years Ha Ha Ha......I Just get these cravings that I swear I can feel from my head to my toes and its like an itching. I started eating carrots. celery and caulflower instead of candy and that helps some and believe me I can eat so vegies. Any other hints please...........

Oh I wish I knew the answer. I'm on day 4 and it's kicking my butt. All I can say is try to hang in there. It's the whole mind thing you know. The mind is such a powerful thing. Wow - I read somewhere that this addiction causes the subconsious mind to percieve smoking as a necessary function likened to breathing and when you stop smoking your body is still telling you to do it. I guess we just have to keep telling the mind "No" until it's reconditioned to the new way of life. Ugh - this sucks!

I quit 3 months ago and I STILL get cravings you just gotta get through them. I wish I had better advice.

I have an aunt that quit 30+ years ago and sometimes, out of nowhere, she'll have a sudden craving for one. I don't think we ever completely stop wanting one, but I promise you that the cravings become less and less with time and less and less powerful. I've been quit for almost 15 months and while I don't think about them very much for the most part, there are times when a craving for one will really hit me! I just find something to do with my hands and mouth (get your minds out of the gutter! LOL) and it always passes. You're definitely on the right track with snacking healthy (that's what I did). Also try drinking water when you have that overwhelming urge. The reason I suggest that is that you're putting something good into your body (water) in place of something bad (smoking). It works for me. Anyway, congratulaions on 3 weeks! Keep it up!
