No I don't want a cigarette today. It's been 7 days. A wonderful 7 days!!!

Yesterday I met up with a friend that I haven't seen in a long time and I gave her a hug and instantly I smelled smoke on her. It actually smelled soooooo bad. I don't want to smell like that ever again!!

Nope, don't want a cigarette! It's so true that everyday gets easier. Today is by far my best day so far! 2W, 13H. I'm hoping that I'm over the hardest part although I know withdrawal can take up to 3 weeks.

Chantix is truly a wonder drug!

Keep up the good work everyone.

Two weeks, 13 hours, 44 minutes and 10 seconds. 437 cigarettes not smoked, saving $114.76. Life saved: 1 day, 12 hours, 25 minutes.

Re: Post here if you don't want a cigarette (or nicotine) today!

HI everyone!! No I don't want a cigarette today...this is my official quit day and since the last 4-5 days I have smoked maybe 1/2 a cigarette. Today has been a fairly easy day. I was working and looked up at the time and realized that the normal "break time" earlier this morning had already passed and didn't even think about it. I actually went outside to get a little sunshine (it's a beautiful day today) a bit ago with a coworker who smoked and didn't even have the slightest desire to light up. Whoo hoo for me!!! Way to Go Everyone!! I am proud of each and everyone of you!!

Hello All

So nice to read a tread where everyone is so positive about their quit and doing so well.

No, I don't want a cigarette today! I'm not going to want any tomorrow either. I'm now on day 31 and it does get easier everyday. I didn't even think about cigarettes today. This whole quit has been so much easier than I expected. Thank You Chantix!

Continued success to all you quitters.

Ray

Re: Post here if you don't want a cigarette (or nicotine) today!

Hi RD!

Congrats on not wanting a cig today. Wow, quit day is here for you - my quit day was Friday - and I'm doing just fine. Got thru my workday okay - I don't smoke at work, so that wasn't the problem. It was the 2 I smoked before work and the immediate one when I got home, but I went to the store after work and now I'm cooking dinner. Just keeping busy - occupodo - no tmie to think about smoking (except for when I'm on here and reading about it, which is mostly NOT smoking!)

So, how's the Chantix working for you? Any side effects? Man, I get a queasy stomach as soon as I take it, and I always take it with food and plenty of water, maybe I need to do more water. It only lasts a few minutes, and I never feel like throwing up, just a slight, ewww, my tummy hurts a little. So, I can live with that. And the sleep thing, getting less hours of it, but so far, so good - I did some exercise this morning. Just a teeney bit - don't want to shock my body too badly at first. That would be my luck, quit smoking and have a heart attack from working out!! DANG!

RD keep us posted on your progress. This board is great with a lot of supporters on here for you. Not sure I could do it without all the people writing to cheer us on. We can do this - if we all stick together!!

I don't want a nicotine today and never! It's been 18 days for me, yippee! I'm quite surprise at myself. I look forward to a month of smoke/nicotine free so I can celebrate with some yummy food. Have a great day everyone!

Wailana - Free and Healing for Eighteen Days, 3 Hours and 21 Minutes, while extending my life expectancy 15 Hours, by avoiding the use of 181 nicotine delivery devices that would have cost me $47.02.

I don't want a cigarette. The very smell of them makes me dizzy and sick to my stomach. Like I'm actually going to put one to my lips. lol.

And congrats to all the quitters. I know the struggle and I applaud you for kicking the death sticks butt every single day that you don't pick one up.

Re: Post here if you don't want a cigarette (or nicotine) today!

My attitude, aside from "smoking is not an option" is
"smoking will NOT fix my problems" - I need to remember this and keep repeating it, because it is true!
It won't solve my problems, or make them disappear. It won't make me feel better.

Today is day 8 and it would seem my lungs are ready to get rid of some crap....I was coughing so hard I almost threw up. Anyone out there experience this?

Deb- I am having the same thing going on. It is our lungs getting rid of all the crap that they couldn't get rid of before. We are healing It has mainly hit me in the mornings. This past Saturday was the worst. From what I have read about it just hang in there and it will get better in a week or so.
