Hello! My name is Jeannie and I am taking Chantix to quit smoking. I am on day 9, and almost 2 days w/o a cigarette. I love this stuff! I am a little irritable at times, yesterday was worse...but it can only get better from here. I dont know if anyone has this side effect...but I do not have an appetite. Which is better than wanting to eat everything in site, if this continues, at least I wont have to worry about gaining weight. I really cant gain any, I am already needing to lose some. Anyway, I think Chantix is a wonderful invention! I LOVE IT! Good luck to all who are on the same journey as me. YOU CAN DO IT!

Hi Jeanie: Welcome! My appetite hasn't been the same (thankfully!) since I started the rx. It's gotten better as time has gone on, but I'm still never really very hungry. In the beginning, I had to almost force myself to eat.

Glad you're doing well w/ Chantix. It's great! No question about it.

Jeannie, congratulations on the decision to become a non-smoker!!! This will be the most important health decision you have ever made!!

Two days quit is awesome... watch out for day 3, many on here say that is worse than day 1 and 2. Stay strong and come back and let us know how you are doing!!

Welcome to the best support group anywhere!! You're gonna love it here!

I too had no appetite. I had to force myself to eat each time I took a pill. It is the only time in my life that I didn't want to eat. haha!
For me day one was the worse. It got easier after that. For some day 3 is the worse. I think the reason day 3 is so bad for some people is because it takes 3 days for the nicotine to get out of your system. And old nicodemon is screaming at you to feed him!! The Chantix makes the withdrawal symptoms more bareable. You are on your way to a healthier life. Stopping smoking is the most important thing you could do to improve your health. Congratualtions on you decision to do this!!
