glad to see so many people on this board. i stopped smoking 7mths and 1 week ago. i actually stopped smoking in jan of 2006 but started back up in june because of extreme anxiety. i then stopped again on aug 1st.. i have tried several times before that but this time i used the patch along with hypnosis. i stayed on the patch for over 5 months until i was ready to go off. so i have been totally nicotine free for about 2 months now. the cravings still come once in awhile but they are weak and leave quickly. as long as i stay in the right frame of mind i will stay off cigarettes. i smoked for 38 years. God bless you all
Hi Marian! CONGRATS on being 2 months FREE
I have been smoking off an on for 25 years....this time I mean it....smoking won't fix my problems or make them go away...it's time for a different strategy!
So glad you found us here! Keep us posted on how you are doing.

Congratulations Marian!!! Keep up the good work!!!
I know what you mean, I smoked for 35 years and I am thrilled to finally be rid of it. I quit over five weeks ago using Chantix. I honestly could not have done it without this drug.
Congratulations, marian! Wow that is great after 38 years! Just goes to show any of us can do this no matter how long we have smoked...if we want to strong enough, huh? I smoked around 30 years, (minus 2x I quit for over a year, and also quit about 8 other times...but this time's forever!)
Glad you stopped smoking again after your relapse...I had one of those too, 4 months into this quit. (I quit almost 3 1/2 yrs ago) You have probably learned from that set back, and will know how to handle rough periods in the future....cos' let's face it, life is full of ups and downs. We learn to get through it without those ugly things in our mouths anymore.
Hi marian!
Congratulations on being smoke free for over 7 months!! That's awesome!
I quit on August 14 using Chantix. I had smoked for about 40 years. Doesn't it feel good to take a deep breath? Also I've noticed that when I laugh really hard it doesn't end up being a coughing fit.
thanks for all the congrats. i hope to never go back. the most annoying thing about stopping this time is i dream that i have started smoking again. and in the dream i am always upset about it. i have never had that happen. at least it's a dream. God bless you all.
