Day 55 without a cigarette

I'm on day 55 with no cigarettes (except for the 3 puffs that is lol)!! I actually quit the chantix about a week, week and a half ago and I'm doing ok. I had only been taking half doses anyway because of my blood pressure. The last couple of days that I did take the chantix, I had really horrible hot flashes about 30 minutes after taking it and I haven't had any since I quit taking it. It could still be a coincidence thought, I am 43 and could be going into premenopause lol.
I'm a little more irritable than normal but I'm under a lot of stress right now due to a family member!
I don't plan on every touching another cigarette again! I feel better mentally than I have in a long time, I started a diet a couple of weeks ago and an exercise plan and I've lost 5 pounds. I'm really excited about keeping it all going and being healthy :-)

Re: Day 55 without a cigarette

Congratulations Joryzmom on 55 days!! Glad your exercising. It helps with the stress. According to my doctor, exercise is good for a whole host of ailments!! My blood pressure was low...exercise. My husband's blood pressure was high...exercise. High cholesterol...exercise. Depression...exercise. Stopping smoking....exercise. Need to lose weight...exercise!!!! You get the picture. I think sometimes he just tells me this stuff because he knows I hate to exercise!!

Delighted, Congratulations on 56 days!! Way To Go!! I agree with you. I does take willpower on your part. But for some reason, it seemed to me like the Chantix help to give me the willpower. The reason I say this is because I never had it before taking the Chantix.

You both are super quitters!!!
