The 5 D's of nicotine withdrawal:
Delay until the urge passes. Usually 3-5 minutes
Distract yourself. Call a friend or go for a walk.
Drink water to fight off cravings
Deep Breaths - Relax! Close your eyes and take 10 slow, deep breaths.
Discuss you feelings with someone close to you or at the message board here.
You are doing good!! It just takes a little time. The more time that passes, the easier it will be. Be strong!! You can do this.
leave the situation, exercise, take deep breaths (this one worked very well for me), eat or chew on something, do a relaxation exercise, take a shower, take a bubble bath, do something with a non smoker, do something else like read or listen to music.
