Seven months, two days, 3 hours, 33 minutes and 15 seconds. 4282 cigarettes not smoked, saving $642.44. Life saved: 2 weeks, 20 hours, 50 minutes. Quit date August 14, 2006
Oh, I won't be gone permanently, you can't get rid of me that easily. I meant to say that instead of spending 8 hours a day on here it'll only be maybe 15 minutes to 1/2 hr at night, most nights. I do travel with a laptop, but some nights I'm just too tired to get online from hotels. My "vacation" was wonderful, I'm sad it's over.
Our group is staying at a Marriott property in Las Vegas, Marriott went completely non-smoking a few months ago. Do you know how irritated I'd be in that hotel next week if I hadn't quit smoking?
tampaquit, it was quite nice. Before Christmas I told my manager that I either have to take a couple of months off or I have to quit. I was so burned out from 15 years of constant travel. I went to a physchiatrist and therapist and they said "We recommend short term disability for you". I said, cool, I didn't know I could get paid for this. But the bad part is I have to go back and I'm not ready. I can't believe I had 8 weeks off and have not been bored, have shopped alot, and I did work on getting unburned out... but I am not ready to go back to work. Let's see how I feel next Friday when I get home from Las Vegas. The doctor did write my release back to work as "temporary, see how she can take being back at work".
Don't work too hard. Just check in as often as you can. Just think how you can fit right in at the smoke free hotel...that is a great accomplishment. And of course you can quit for good when you win the big bucks that you plan to share with all of us...

YOU ARE A SUPERSTAR AND A NON SMOKER THAT IS SOOOO COOL
I didn't win the jackpot. I am in the airport waiting for my flight back to Atlanta and then Florida. I am so tired, but I knew I'd be. How is everyone doing?
Congrats to all of us QUITTERS !!!!!!!!!!! Tomorrow is day 12 smoke free and I am feeling so good. The chantix has been such a huge help for me! The number of days are just flying on by and I'm lovin it! Its so funny because my sense of smell has improved greatly and I can smell smokers from 10 feet away and I can't believe that used to be me. Take care everyone
Traveller,
I know you will be glad to get home! How was it being a non smoker and working?
We've go a lot of new quitters this week. I've been doing good. The weather this week has been fantastic. Spring has sprung!! But then my car is green with pollen from the trees!! It is suppose to be a beige color!! Wished I could get out and go fishing. But hubby has a lung infection and shouldn't be out with all the pollen floating around. So maybe in a couple of week.
Good to hear from you!!
Traveller - glad you had a good time in Vegas - yeah, wow, I was wondering about that casino thing. Dang, that would be tough. I remember hanging out there for hours, pulling the slots, lighting one up after another. We went to Tahoe in May last year and hit every single casino I think!! And smoked about a pack in each one! And I hated the smell in my clothes and hair afterwards - YUK!! So glad to be a non-smoker...
Welcome home!! At least it's beautiful here in Florida - just watch out for all the Spring Breakers.....
Hi black widow,
12 days as a non smoker is FABULOUS!! Congratulations! Just think...your breath used to smell like a dirty old ashtray!
Your hair used to stink with cigarette smoke!
Don't ya just want to tell everyone how wonderful it is to be smoke free?
Well....tell everyone that will listen!!! I do!!
