Another coworker of my Hubby's is going to be starting Chantix on Monday (he bought the pills on Tues, I believe). Then two other coworkers of my Hubby's are quitting smoking Monday also but are doing it cold turkey.

I have been quit for 9 days,1 hours and 46 minutes (1 week 2 days). I have saved $46.80 by not smoking 360 cigarettes. My quit date 3-14-07 (put out last cigarette 11:59pm 11-13-07).
Congrats on your not smoking, me too, I've been smoke free since Feb 1. I used Chantix but had to discontinue because I was getting some type of rash and it was making me feel weird, bloated and uncomfortable. But, I have started smoking again which is the greatest thing in the world. I'm 50 years old and I've been smoking since I was 13 or 14. This is a total alien world to me, not smoking. I feel so much better knowing that I don't have to buy them anymore, its a freeing feeling.
dwatkins,
Hi Deb!!
I hope you meant to say that you have NOT started smoking again!!
Are you going cold turkey now? You are doing so good in your quit!!
I know exactly what you are talking about. I smoked for 40 years. I was raised in a house full of smokers. So this is the first time in my life that I can say that I am totally smoke free!! What a feeling!!!!! Unbelievable!!
No, I'm not smoking and it is cold turkey and hopefully gets a little easier every day. Sometimes I go a whole 2 hours without thinking about it, but I still have the "I want a cigarette" thing in my head." That probably stays with you a long time, it's probably part of my dna by now, after 38 years! lol.
