Yay for me!!

I haven't had a smoke in 7 months!!!
The only problem I'm having is that I find it hard to go out with my friends. The usual hang out is a bar and I can't stand the smoke!! Sometimes I'll come home at 2am and have to wash my hair no matter how tired I am. My eyes burn and my chest hurts even the next day. If I'm not smoking my own cigarettes why would I want to inhale someone else's?
Other than that, it has been totally worth it!! I did have to have my thyroid meds increased. I'm pretty sure quitting messed with my levels. So once this extra weight comes off from my thyroid issue I will be back on track!
Congrats to those who have quit and good luck to those who are trying!!

You should, you're just down the road....

Big congratulations, Nodi, I hope I can keep my attitude going the rest of my life, but 7 months sounds so outrageous by my 'old' standards...you deserve a big pat on the back, and a bar with no smoke!!
Well, with warmer weather in the offing, there ought to be some patios open, if that is any consolation.

Best Regards,
DeadFish

Hey neighbor
Unfortunately the bar we usually go to doesn't have a patio We mostly go there for the dancing anyway. Maybe someday the places will be smoke free around here, that would be nice! It's funny, none of my friends smoke, and most never have and it doesn't seem to bother them as much as it does me. It's weird.

Cool Re: Yay for me!!

WOW NODI 7 MONTHS WOW

That is quite the accomplishment! Very proud of you as I am sure it has not been without some trying times.

I had not even thought that not smoking would affect my TSH level. I have thyroid cancer which is under control, but now with no thyroid I do have to take full hormone replacements. I am scheduled to be checked in the next month or two, but if I get unusually tired I will check sooner. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
