Congratulations! I'm new here so I don't know your whole history. Can we have a speech? How do you feel? Are you still taking Chantix? Do you still have a desire to smoke? 8 months is awesome. Celebrate!!!
Way to go Memaw!! We are all proud of you and you should be proud of yourself. I can't tell you how many of us look to you as an inspiration, and every day that you go smoke free gives us all hope. Keep up the good work.
Interesting development for me today, I am on day 5 of start pak and I lit up this AM and strangely the cig. seemed different. I even looked to see if there was a hole or tear. It is like I am getting smoke but nothing else and there was no pleasure. Of course I tried 3 other cigs. before I came to that conclusion. Anyway, I originally found this site because I was disappointed I could not tell a difference and I still enjoyed smoking. I just wanted to let you know that you were right, it takes a few days, but it does work. Thank you, thank you. My quit day is Tuesday but I think I will be almost smoke free before then.
What a wonderful milestone for such a terrific person! Your inspiration, for others, is priceless!!! WAY TO GO!!! Sure hope you're doing some celebrating today!

I told my hubby a little while ago that it had been 8 months. He looked at me like... what are you talking about? Remember now, he has never smoked. It's just another day to him. I'll be glad when I can feel like its just another day to me. I no longer have daily urges or even thoughts of smoking. Just maybe a few time a week now.
I want to thank each of you for helping make my quit so successful. I love all of you. Ya'll have become almost like a family to me.
Speaking of which...My family is getting together tomorrow to celebrate my Daddy's 78th birthday!!
I'll be cooking a beef roast with carrots, potatoes and onions, some homemade baked macaroni and cheese, homemade muffins and banana pudding. My cousin and sister in law and others will be bring stuff down too. Not sure what they are bringing. But I'm sure I'll overeat and regret it later. Daddy cooks for himself, but just crock pot stuff. So he ought to enjoy it.
Wished you all could come celebrate with us. There is nothing like a good ole Southern Family Reunion!! We use any excuse to get together and celebrate.
My brother and my cousins will be smoking outside. But I won't be joining them this year!! YEEHAW!!

I didn't do anything special today. Last week I went and had a massage!! My hubby went too. He deserved it as much as I did for putting up with me!! haha!!
My Dad lives in Tunica County Mississippi, (That's where all the casinos are!)
So maybe tomorrow on the way home we can make a little detour. Hubby doesn't like to gamble. But sometimes he goes so I can. We'll see. I think that would be a pretty good treat for me. Maybe I'll hit a jackpot!! Yeah, like that's gonna happen.
I hit a jackpot (well $1000) in Gulfport before the casinos were flattened by Katrina.... so maybe you will tomorrow.... I'll cross my fingers and send a few so that you can win the big jp.... butwell not too big, I don't want you jet setting in your private jet, on your big cruise ship, in the South of France.... and ignoring us poor souls here at the HealthBoards.

Daddy had a wonderful day as did all of us. Good food and good people. Can't get better than that. I would give everyone a list of all the food, but I don't think you could take it. hehehe.
It was very windy today with a little chill in the air. I didn't have to go out to smoke with all the others!! I got to stay in and claim the couch after dinner!!
