I quit smoking for a year. I had a lot of stuff going on in my life and I started back up. After the 3rd month of smoking again, I started having a hard time breathing, and a lot of lung pain, very bad cough. I continued to smoke for another 6 months until I could literally breathe anymore.
I quit smoking and went t o the doctor, she did a chest x-ray, and a few other things, and I have no sign of cancer emphysema, or asthma. The problem is, I have been smoke free for 6 months, and every two week, I go through these horrible coughing fits I canít breathe, and I can feel all this congestion, but nothing comes out. When I do cough up, its very thick mucus, but its clear. Are my lungs just working overtime to clean themselves out, or should I be concerned that I may have chronic bronchitis or something even worse. I'm freaking out a lil bit.
