meds for removal of smoking sensations this may sound absurd..but i was watching david letterman and i saw that kelly rippa claimed she went on the anti-depressant wellbutrin (not sure on the spelling) and it like removed any connection or sensation she could remember about physical aspect of smoking and also memories of it..Any thoughts? I don;t smoke any more..only if im drinking i might have a cigarette..maybe 5 or 6 times a year..but i;m still curious |
Re: meds for removal of smoking sensations My doc prescribed me Wellbutrin years ago in an attempt to help me quit. He said Wellbutrin was the same as Zyban only a little bit cheaper (they both are bupropion). I can't comment on its effectiveness. I took one pill and felt like I was coming out of my skin! No more of that. |
Re: meds for removal of smoking sensations I used it a few years back. It was the generic to Zyban and it worked. It made my smokes taste...yuck!!! Then I went back to smoking and quit a few years later..cold turkey. The wellbutrin did help and it was in expensive. Now I almost have a year smoke free!!!:blob_fire I wish I could smoke when I drink...but I am a smoke junkie it is all or nothing for me. |
Re: meds for removal of smoking sensations I tried Zyban and it helped me quit for a few months. Unfortunately I went back to the cigs. A few years later my doc wanted me to try Chantix. So far, It has been a blessing. I've been quit for 113 days now. Give Zyban a try if you want, but the Chantix is what is working for me. |
