Re: cough

All the crap that's been accumulating in your lungs from smoking is coming out. My dad had the same thing when he quit- he felt worse at first because of the cough. I got a cold or something when I quit which isn't gone and I think all my lung stuff is starting to come up too. My upper back was a little sore yesterday and is again today, but I'm not 100% sure if it's still the cold or not that's giving me the cough. Try to stick with quitting, I'll do the same!

Re: cough

My dad smoked and quit in the 60's, he couldn't remember how long after he quit until he started coughing. I'm only on day 7 of quitting and since my cold hasn't gone away I'm not sure which is making me cough. I'm coughing a little more today but my nose is also more stuffy, so maybe it's the cold and I haven't started coughing up junk yet. It probably varies by person.

Re: cough

Hey Sharon, I had a horrible cough for 2 weeks right after I quit. It was bad. I had lots of thick plegm. I would feel as if I were choking. A couple of times I thought I might pass out. Thankfully all that ended. so hang in there!!

I'm using chantix this time. I'm still craving but it hasn't been very long for me.
