hubby quit smoking now he's sick all the time? - Smoking Cessation Message Board

It's been about seven months since my husband quit smoking. I am so proud of him! Seems though like he's had a cough for three months and sometimes he can make this wheezy noise. He says he can breathe just fine. Getting him to the doctor is like herding mules! He went about four months ago and had such a bad ear infection that the doc said it was ready to burst. I'm scared. I'm afraid he's getting something bad from all that smoking in the past. We are only in our twenties.

Has anyone else experienced getting sick more often after quitting?

Sometimes when we quit smoking,symptoms arise.Smoking can mask alot of things.

7 months is fantastic.

He honestly should she a DR just to be on the safe side.Him coughing could be him clearing his lungs,allergies.

After I guit smoking,I developed a sinus infection and it still come and goes.Maybe its our bodies way of healing itself.

This makes me feel much better. Trying to convience him to go to the doctor. Perhaps I can get him to go by tricking him into thinking we are going to the Bass Pro Shop. . . lol

You do whatever it takes to get him to a DR.

I have Multiple Sclerosis and after I quit smoking,symptoms went haywire,but slowly have subsided.

Each of us reacts differently.

Bribe him with a new fishin pole if ya need to.LOL
