| Re: Chantex side effects
Yes. Joint and muscle pain/arthritis with Chantix is all the buzz right now. I have left knee and right elbow pain -- as well as a couple sore fingers. I'm 35 and never had this pain before.
But what stumps me, as well as the physicians I'm speaking with, is folks have complained about sore joints and muscles when quitting long before Chantix came out. Yes, these things are listed as a side effect from Pfizer. But they're also listed side effects of quitting smoking, too. Then I hear that the government wants to regulate tobacco because of the 4,000 chemicals they put in them; some of those chemicals are allegedly anesthetics! If that's truly the case, then it's no wonder that when people quit smoking (no matter what they used to help them), all sorts of aches and pains arise.
I don't know. For me, the aches and pains have simply shifted from one area of my body to another. I used to live with a sore chest from coughing all the time, a sore throat, a sore upper back from smoking and coughing. Now that's all better, and I've got an achy knee and elbow <sigh>.
