i stopped smoking 10 days ago and feel awful my breathing seems worse i feel tired depressed just totaly ill i stopped from march to jjune this year and did not feel like i do this time sorry to be such a winge but does this happen to other people
Absolutely I was a mess I didn't sleep at night, I had panic attacks, I had a terrible stomach to name a few I was also REAALLY depressed but it passes. It takes a while but stick it out it so worth it!! I'm at almost 20 months and this is my third and hopefully last quit. I found with each quit it was harder each time I guess because more of the nicotine etc was in my system. Keep coming back here there are such supportive people and they'll help you through the worst of it. If all else fails get one those nicotine replacement aides.
thank you i am using the patches you are doing so well did you use anything to help and did you smoke for long as i think i am having it so bad because i have smoked such a long time
I smoked for 38 years and I stopped almost 18 months ago. I actually stopped in Jan. 2006 but relapsed for 2 months in June of that year. Yes, anxiety and depression can be a symptom of nicotine withdrawal. Your dopamine receptors got used to the fix and, from what I read, you developed even more of them because of the nicotine. Anyway, dopamine is a feel good center in your brain. It is now having a fit. Some people go on an antidepressant for awhile. Wellbutrin might be a helpful one. Stay with it. Godlbess
