Smile Stopping on 2 April Help!

I suffer sever anxiety and have met the most amazing, gentle, caring man. He is a health fitness type guy of 55. He wants me to stop smoking. My cut off day is 2 April.... I can't take anything because of severe anxiety attacks. Is it a mind frame. When I went away with him for 3 weeks I was perfect, no smoking, but the day I knew I was alone, I grabbed a smoke ha ha
We are going to be together all the time now, so smoking is out. Does anyone please have any help for me. I definitely want to stop, it is healthier, so my logic tells me, but I do enjoy it, but know I have to stop because he is so anti.

Thanks for any help

Carol

Re: Stopping on 2 April Help!

carol....i'm a smoke of 43 yrs. i have quit to many times to count. now i have been on commit lozenges since 3/9, and i don't have more than maybe 2 craves a day that i talk myself thru. if you quit cold turkey for 3 wks, you had all the nicotine and toxins out of your body. best of luck to do it all again...we're here to cheer you on!....bevann

Re: Stopping on 2 April Help!

Thank you for your reply... you serious that I had all the nicotine out my system in those 3 weeks? That is such an encouragement, because now I know I can do it, only this time...I will talk myself through any cravings or try gum.

Thanks a million for your reply

I know it is to late to stop by April 2 but my Dr. put me on Chantix and that is the best, it is a 12 week course, but you do not crave a cigarette when it is over, I haven't had a cigarette in over a month, try it.

Re: Stopping on 2 April Help!

Being able to stop smoking depends on just how much you really want to!! If you don't sincerely want to quit, then you can always find an excuse to go back. So, mind over matter! Find new habits, get outdoors, join quit smoking programs, get into support groups, keep those hands busy and mind too! Smoking is a "learned" habit...then you get addicted as nicotine is such an addictive drug. Getting off has some unpleasant side effects, but the overall picture is very positive. Good Luck!!
