20 months

As of april 1st I will be smoke free for 20 months. For those of you who are in the first few weeks or months of this process, keep it up! It is worth it. And don't worry about the method you are using. I found I was ready to stop when I looked for reasons to quit instead of reasons to smoke. I still get an occasional fleeting urge but it passes just as quickly as it comes. Sometimes I can hardly believe I have come this far. Godbless

Re: 20 months

Congrats to both of you that is terrific, I am at for the 3rd time quitting at 2 weeks and I feel great. I have help with Chantix the wonder drug and boy does it work. Once in a while i get an urge but it does pass as quick as it comes.

I am 46 and started to change my lifestyle which I believe is the key to staying quit. Changing routines is the way. I am working out everyday and now have more energy than I have before. It feels really good. I will make it to where you both are and beyond. again both of you are an inspriation that it can be done.

Re: 20 months

marian, congrats to you!! i will be so happy when i can say i've quit for 20 mos., and i know it will happen this time, because i was really ready in my mind to quit!
right now my sis is here for a wk, and she smokes...plus hubby is still smoking. he says when she leaves he is going to quit too...i'll just have to wait and see what happens.
so, i am living with 2 smokers and yesterday went to the casino where everyone was smoking next to me at the slots, i did'nt even have a craving. i will be quit for 4 wks on sunday.
everyone keep on going, you are all doing great!....bevann

Re: 20 months

Bevann--congrats on the 4 weeks. I know that you have been trying to stop for awhile now. I tried several times before it took. Our son was living with us at the time and he smokes.

Liamsmom--I think I'll keep my chocolate addiction for now. It helps to keep me sane.

Godbless to all of you and keep it up.
