| Re: 44 months on the 8th! It can be done!
debberd, you're going to have cravings, withdrawals, dreams ... whatever you want to call them. Every week that you're off of the nicotine, the cravings lessen and life gets better. I'm eleven months past my quit time and just last week I dreamed that I purchased a CARTON of my old brand and was chain smoking them outside. LOL It's not going to happen. After thirty five years of smoking, that long-time habit isn't just going to vanish. It will always be in the back of my mind, but every week pushes it a little further back. It's not going to be easy for you, and there's no one that can do it for you. If quitting smoking is this tough, can you imagine what a heroin addict or cocaine user is like when they try to quit? It's tough, but there's no more significant improvement that YOU can do to improve your health and life. You've already made the decision to quit. Now, carry that action out today. Take one day at a time, and you'll get through it. Put some faith in yourself and get on with it. Be sure to stop back and check this forum out occassionally. The next "quitter" is going to need some help and support from you.
