Well, it's been nine weeks now since I quit cold turkey. I'm doing ok, except for the few pounds I've gained. I had lunch with an old friend a couple weeks ago. I just want to share some things she said to me. She told me not to worry about the weight the right now, that I was much healthier for not smoking. The weight can be dealt with later. She also said that it takes a year, a cycle through all the seasons, to be able to fight all the different triggers we encounter. I know I've been having urges, especially when I'm out Christmas shopping! I'm learning to indentify the triggers and finding ways to overcome them. So, hang in there everyone. You can do this!
