Just for fun make up a spreadsheet and see how you can save a million by not smoking.
1 year @ $2/pack = $730 each and every year
Now the fun part
increase cost of cigs by 6%/year
every year invest the savings in a 10% return stock and by not starting smoking at age 18 you will have an extra million bucks by time you are 63

That is so true! We forget sometimes how much money we are actually spending on these things! IT ADDS UP! Thank you Hendrixcochran for sharing that with us

Just worked it up . . . my husband smokes avg. 14 packs/week at $2.75/pack = $2002/year!!!!!

I used to smoke about 7 packs per week. $1001/year!

So between the 2 of us, we spent $3003/year! NUTS!!!
