It's been 3 1/2 weeks since I quit cold turkey. I feel like I'm losing my mind. I feel like I'm going to cry all day long. Is this a withdrawl symptom?
YES! It is very much a withdrawl symptom, at least it was for me. I couldnt believe how emotional I was, it was sooo frusterating but hang in there, after awhile it DOES go away

Most likely. If you are having real emotional problems they could be attibuted to the lack of the tabacco. Anti-depressants like zyban, celexa, prozac can help. I waited till almost 10 weeks to get help from my Dr. My Dr. said it can take up to 12 mo to adjust to not smoking I am at 7 months and doing pretty good. I still have an urge every now and then but the anti depressant is helping with the stress etc....so I really only want one when the kids are hanging from the light fixtures (joking)or something extremly stressful. I wish you the best! You can do it!
What you're feeling is perfectly normal. It is definitely a withdrawal symptom. I start whiggin' out at around 2 weeks. In fact, I had a major anxiety attach a two days ago where I was absolutely convinced I had terminal cancer. No real symptoms, just a complete feeling of dread. I went to my doctor, got a lung x-ray. All was clear and he gave me some mild anti-anxiety drugs and I'm feeling much, much better today. I obviously have more work to do to overcome these panic attacks but at least I'm recognizing them as a symptom of quitting smoking.
PD.. we all are going thru this togehter. Been 3 months for me and sometimes I think I just can't handle one more minute without that smoke. All most gave in this weekend but I did not smoke yesterday, have not smoked today (so far) and hope like hell I don't smoke tomorrow. Just one day at a time is all we can do. hang in there...
