I was a smoker
Hello, Just wanted to share how i quit smoking.
I smoked for about 8-9 years.
Since I was 19. Pretty much a pack a day. When i was 24 I had my daughter.
I didn't smoke for the whole 9 months. but went back after i had her.
Anyway I quit smoking a year and
4 months ago. At first I tried the Gum.... I was doing well for about 2-3 days and i would cheat and smoke one. I guess I didn't want to stop 100%. But ever time I had one I was like WHAT AM I DOING?
And I started to ask myself WHY do i need this? Why do I want to pay tons of $ to kill myself? What am I so stressed about or not happy about that i need to do this to my health?
I did lots of thinking. And at the same time Fear kicked in... If I don't stop I have a chance of getting cancer and all that. And most of all I want to live long for my daughter.
After surfing he net and finding out there's 4000 toxic things in one smoke I Was like Ok its time....
So one day I said THAT"S IT!
and with out the gum, I quit.
Never touched one since then.
I know it's hard but you have to want to quit. you have to make up your mind.
When it was hard, I used to picture myself at the Drs. him telling me bad news cuz I smoked. Then I would be like OK I don't need it...lol
It helps alot. IT"S ALL IN THE MIND!
I went to the ER 2 months ago cuz my heart was beating real fast and all. They took a chest X ray. And that was the 1 st time I ever had that done.
When I was waiting I was like WHAT IF they find soemthing in my lungs!
and you know how they make you wait and wait... Omg I was scared Big time.
But lucky Everything was fine...
When people smoke they never think of gonig to get a chest Xray.. fear its self would want to make yuo stop I think.
I just told my self I'M NOT LETTING THIS CONTROL ME i'M GONIG TO CONTROL IT.
