Non smoker living with smoker needs advice - Smoking Cessation Message Board

My husband is a smoker and I obviously am not. We have two small children and I am pregnant with my third. Since living with my husband I have been diagnosed with asthma which it is suspected was triggered partly by his smoking. I'm worried for the health of my children. I need some help coping with his inability to quit and possibly some information to help him quit as he has in the past told me that he would like to...

Well, the least he could do, if he is concerned with your health and your childrens, is to go outside or down the basement (if you have one) That's what I did for years. No sense inflicting others with the poisonous smoke.

He has to want to quit, that's the bottom line. You can run a search for 'quitting smoking' on any search engine and find hundreds of sites. I'd post some but they'd be deleted. Good luck

I smoked for years, but I never inflicted it on my children or husband by smoking in the house. He needs to get real and start considering others health if he won't take care of his own.

My husband is the non smoker in our house. So I smoke outside and baby its cold outside. Makes for one quick cig. But I've gotten better. Down to only 1/2 pack now a day.
