What kind of surgery you having that requires no nicotine in your blood? I am having surgery this wednesday the 19th and all they told me was 24 hours to 3 days and thats just so the lungs are stronger and less prone to infection from the anesetic (sp?). Your lungs are prone to get a bit of fluid in them after surgery and smoking might irritate them more so thats why they like you to quit or cut down before surgery, I have a doc appt tomorrow I will ask him that question cuz I would like to know too and I will post back and tell you. Take care.
