my mom wont stop smoking:-( - Smoking Cessation Message Board

i care about my mom so much i love her sooo much! she is a smoker she has smoked as long as i can remember..i hate it she doesnt do it around me but that is not what i care about i care about her health. she is 43 years old i have told her time and time to stop smoking but she wont she says she is trying but i dont believe her (i know it is hard but i dont think she is giving a good effort) -everytime i try and talk to her about it she gets really mad and me and turns the other cheek..it hurts my feelings when she does this because i explain to her that i am just worried about her. what do i do? what can i say to her? im only 15 there isnt much i can do..but i need help on this one she has to stop i want her to beable to live to see me have children.
HELP ME PLEASE
any advice would be greatful!

i understand how u feel my mom is the same way as yours, but my mom smokes around me and refuses to not smoke around me. so she is not only endangering her life, but mine also. so i have to suffer from the effects and smell like cigarettes and all that fun stuff. so i guess ur kinda lucky compared to me, but i hope u get ur mom to stop.

thanks curius333..your mom smokes around you?..that is really not good. i have heard that 2nd hand smoke can do as much damage as 1st hand maybe even worst..you seriously have to talk to her about it print something out that tells about the effects of 2nd hand smoke. lemme know how it goes if you talk to her. good luck!

Have her read this forum! I am 47, my post is down a bit, under how to stop smoking. Maybe if she hears it from someone who did smoke it would help. Like an alcholic, support from others that are one is best, hearing the same stories does help. Something will "hit" her to make the stop, my scare with health issues did it for me. Good luck to your mom!
