Quest cigarettes - Smoking Cessation Message Board

I read where they were coming out with a nicotine free cigarette called Quest. I searched the net trying to find it, but I'm afraid they are going to bury it like they did the other time. I know it's not a safe cigarette, but it would be a great crutch for someone trying to quit. I know because I quit smoking twenty years ago with the help of some awful tasting lettuce leaf cigarettes that I ordered from somewhere. I had tried so many times before to quit, and only with the help of these nicotine free cigarettes, could I do it. How nice if they would allow people to have a cigarette that tasted good while they got away from the addictive substance of nicotine. Once you are no longer addicted to the nicotine, you can break all of the other habits that are a part of smoking. I know because I smoked those lettuce leaf things for three months. My daughter is trying so hard to quit, and would like to try the Quest cigarettes. Does anyone know where a person could buy them, or if they are even available?

I'm no help with your question. Just wanted to say that the Patch worked really well for me. I smoked for 27 years and was seriously addicted - patch really made it FEASIBLE AND DO-ABLE. I've been quit for almost 10 months now.

Don't know about Quest, but as of a year or two ago they still made the lettuce leaf cigarettes. There are also some other types of non-tobacco cigarettes, besides the lettuce leaf. Noticed them the other day in the smoke shop. (Those lettuce leaf ones, tried them.. Kind of gross!)

In regards to Quest. It's not bad (better than those lettuce things thats for sure). I started with Quest 1 and moved to Quest 2 in about three weeks. (It's a step up program). I'll move on to Quest 3 in about a month and see what happens. I know have significantlly reduced how much I am smoking. I went from alomst 3 packs a day to 1.

I ordered some after finding them in a search, and I'm already starting to use the nicotine free ones. I am using them as a crutch for those times when I feel like I am going nuts for want of a cigarette. Most people that I've talked to think that going cold turkey is the best way to go, and using these will help with getting the addictive nicotine out of my system. I've tried the patches, gum and everything else I could find, so I'm hoping this will help me to quit smoking.
