Congrats!! You made it through the worst part!! Glad to hear things went well and that you're seeing some positive results right away. It sure helps you feel better...like it was the right thing to do.
Keep up with your pain meds...don't get behind schedule as it tends to be tougher to get it back under manageable levels when you lag. Rest, rest, rest. To get comfortable in a recliner, I bought one of those "U" shaped travel pillows at Target. Don't put them around your neck (like they show in the picture). Instead, lay them flat and nestle your head between the two sides with the open part to the back of the base of your neck. That seemed to keep pressure off my neck, kept me fairly immobile and comfortable at the same time. Experiment with using different pillows in different locations, including your lower back for support too. Eventually you'll find something that works for you.
I suggest a few good comedy DVD's to lift spirits. And don't be afraid to boss around your caregivers...it's your turn to be pampered for awhile!!
